Frequently asked questions
Yes. We’d rather you call and make an appointment, and if you walk in you may end up waiting behind people who have one. But we’ll see you.
Yes. Cattle work is a big part of what we do, and Dr. Patton is the veterinarian at the McAlester stockyards on Tuesdays.
We do. We’d rather schedule them so we can plan the day around getting to you. If something has gone wrong and it can’t wait, call us and we’ll do our best to work you in.
Roughly thirty miles, give or take. We stick to the surrounding area. If you’re further out than that, call anyway and we’ll tell you straight whether we can get to you or point you toward someone closer.

Dr. Jesse Patton, who bought the practice in June 2019, and Dr. Steve Walker, who has been licensed in Oklahoma since 1974 and has more experience than anyone else practicing in this county. Both are Oklahoma State graduates.
Dr. Walker is usually here Tuesdays and Fridays, and he and Dr. Patton alternate weekends. Call ahead if you want to see one of us in particular.
No. We board dogs, and we aren’t set up for cats.
Rabies, bordetella, and current annual wellness shots. If something has lapsed we can bring it up to date while your dog is here.
Boarding is charged per night by your dog’s weight. Up to 30 lb is $15 a night, 31 to 60 lb is $18, 61 to 90 lb is $20, and 91 lb and up is $25.
Boarding stays are charged per night. If you drop your dog off and pick them up the same day, that’s day boarding, and it’s a separate rate.
Only if they’re on a special diet, a prescription food, or canned food. Otherwise we feed Hill’s Science Diet.
